Holiday Adoption Events Save 154 Lives!

Holiday Cat and Kitten Adoption Event
December 3-4
The weather outside was frightful, but our Holiday Cat and Kitten Adoption Event was able to save 52 cats and kittens!

No More Homeless Pets in Utah’s annual holiday adoption event took place at the Canyon Rim PetSmart in Salt Lake City December 3rd and 4th, and everyone was full of good cheer! Santa made a special appearance and pictures were available to pets and their new families for a small donation to Utah Animal Advocacy Foundation. PetSmart truly came alive for the holidays with festiveholiday decorations and hot cocoa and treats were served to those who came in looking for a new forever friend.

A big thank you goes out to our sponsor, PetSmart Charities and our participating shelters and rescue groups – CAWS, Friends of Animals Utah, Humane Society of Utah, UtahAnimal Adoption Center and Salt Lake County Animal Services.

Holiday Life-Saving Event at Salt Lake County Animal Services
December 16-18

No More Homeless Pets in Utah teamed up again with Salt Lake County Animal Services December 16th through 18th to host another adoption event to help relieve the pressure on the shelter. It was a big success with 92 animal adoptions! 55 cats and 37 dogs found their forever homes for the holidays and another 10 went into rescues – 8 cats and 2 dogs. A total of 102 lives were saved, exceeding our goal!

The rescues included Batman, one of the oldest resident cats at shelter. We took him into our adoption program right after the event. On January 3rd, a nice woman came into our offices to adopt a cat. When she met Batman, she found him so charming she adopted him, too!

A big thank you goes to Salt Lake County Animal Services for always working so hard for the animals. Another huge thank you goes out to our wonderful volunteers who really helped to make a difference this holiday season for these dogs and cats, some of whom had been at the shelter for months.
