Lindsey is one of Utah's own homegrown super volunteers. Born and raised in Provo, she always wanted to be a veterinarian when she grew up. The dream later led her to the Utah Career College where she graduated from the Veterinarian Technician Program. Now is a separate career field, Lindsey works as an administrator for a health and welfare company.

But her desire to care for and help animals never stopped. She got involved with No More Homeless Pets in Utah a few years ago when she was first introduced to making winter homes for feral cats. Then last year when NMHPU relocated their office to Sandy, it was a great opportunity for her to get involved more regularly. Every Friday night after work, Lindsey comes to the office to take care of the dozen or more cats that are in the Cat Adoption Suite until they find a home of their own. Lindsey helps create a safe and loving environment for each of them and knows them all by name. In addition to her Friday shift there have been several times on the weekends where she has transported all the cats back to the office from adoption events. And if that wasn't enough, she takes her volunteering home as well and fosters kitties too.

Let's not forget our canine friends! Many times Lindsey has gone downtown to clean and walk dogs at our dog kennel. This can be a rewarding but messy job, but she is not afraid of getting her hands dirty. She has also carried and moved heavy equipment around and assisted with setting up or tearing down at many of our large Super Adoption events. In addition, in support of her doggy pals, she has been a "team captain" the last 6 years at Strut Your Mutt.

As you see Lindsey doing these not so glamorous tasks you will be amazed at how friendly and positive she is, no matter if she is knee deep in cat litter or supporting a fundraiser. You can always count on her to be willing to do just about anything as long as there is not a BYU football game going on! Lindsey is a huge fan and has had season tickets to the games since she was 6 years old. Watch out you U of U fans!

Lindsey lives with her husband Travis, stepson Jaden, and four cats, Jake, Jessie, Jordan and Juno, who were all rescued as strays off the street, and their two dogs. Sierra, a Finnish Spitz mix came to live with them when her owners were going to let her loose on a gold course as they couldn't keep her. Sammy was adopted from No More Homeless Pets in Utah at last year's Spring Super Adoption. "I saw her on Friday evening while helping setup for the event. I loved her personality and charm. I knew someone would snag her in a heartbeat! When I saw her still there on Sunday evening, I couldn't believe no one had adopted her. She had a face that just melts my heart still to this day." Lindsey explains.

Although volunteering takes up a lot of Lindsey's free time, she finds it to be a wonderful way to get involved. "At times it is difficult as I miss certain events or other activities I enjoy. But I see the fantastic staff at No More Homeless Pets in Utah, who are always there for these animals and care for them so. We all have a common goal of finding homes for these animals that are entitled to a home. There is enormous satisfaction to see all of my hard work go to an animal in need!"

Lindsey is truly a gem of a volunteer, a wonderful friend to animals, and a valuable asset to the adoptions program. Each Friday evening without fail we know the sweet cats downstairs in the Cat Adoption Suite will receive a little extra attention because of her. Thank you, Lindsey, for all your compassion and time. We are so grateful to have you!
