Tiffany

Tenacious T (Tiffany)

Tiffany, aka Tenacious T, here and you probably think I look like one tough cookie in my pictures. That’s because life on the streets was no day in the park. You know what I’m saying?  I was living in what I thought was my forever home, but get this, one day I woke up in the shelter. Yo, I don’t even know what I did wrong!

But I'm ready to trust again, and jonesing for that one true home. I'm a bold 3 year old American bulldog, and I'm proud to be strong, big and beautiful. Don't judge this book by its cover, I'm like a big teddy bear. I give out hugs and kisses like it's going outta style. My typical days are exploring my turf, with lots of playtime in the kiddie pool. I ain't no gold digger - I'm content with the little things, like a warm house, belly rubs and rugrats (kids) over 8. No other cats or dogs please, but no worries - there is enough Tenacious T to go around!

UPDATE (December 2009): After spending nearly a year in our adoption program, Tiffany has finally found her one true home with  a wonderful family - Lucia, Ron, and their two children!

Before they adopted her, Tiffany's new family had recently lost their beloved American bulldog Bailey, who had been with them for over 12 years before he passed away. A year before, they had lost another beloved American bulldog family member to cancer. Then they met Tiffany. Though Lucia reports that her husband Ron was initially reluctant to bring her home, he liked the idea of a two-week trial adoption period rather than making a permanent commitment right away, and so Tiffany went to her new home to see if it was a good match.

Lucia writes, "Well, that was it! Tiffany came home and she has filled the gaps in our hearts. Our house is alive again. Thanks for rescuing her. She is our little miracle."

Tiffany now lives an ideal life. She plays with her family in their large, fully-fenced backyard, which is half grass and half wooded, with deer who regularly visit. Nearly every day, she goes for a car ride. She especially loves taking car rides to pick up the kids, who she's already closely bonded with. She roams her new house freely, and her family has placed baskets of bones and toys in the living room to ensure that she always has something nearby to entertain her. She even enjoys luxuriating on Lucia and Ron's bed, which Lucia has commemorated in her beautiful painting, below.

Lucia says, "We love her to death. She is the sweetest girl, and she fits right into our lives."
