3rd Annual Canine Casino Night

Over 300 pups and people showed up for the 3rd Annual Canine Casino Night on June 12th, dressed in their Vegas best and ready to help raise funds for NMHPU through just-for-fun gaming and an elaborate silent auction, with items ranging from a week in Palm Springs to a xeriscape consultation to a custom doghouse.
The Radisson Hotel was transformed into a dog-friendly Vegas for the evening, as dogs and their people crowded the just-for-fun Blackjack, Craps, Roulette and Texas Hold 'Em tables, and cheers could be heard throughout the room as high rollers won big. Pink-haired volunteers and members of the Slippery Kittens Burlesque mingled with the crowd and added the the right sin-city touch.
Bedecked in a pink wig and blue feather boa, emcee Gina Barberi from X96's "Radio From Hell" kept the crowd entertained and informed throughout the evening. Humans and canines were treated to refreshments, and signature drinks included concoctions like the Tailquila, Barkarita and Purryberry. Celebrity dog Ernie, from the Squatters Chasing Tail Golden Ale label, made an appearance, adding to the festive night.
Dogs got VIP treatment in the Canine Royale Lounge. There they received complimentary massages from Calling All Dogs, pawdicures from Meowser Pets Salon, delicious snacks from Aaron Greenwood Custom Gourmet Dog Treats and psychic readings from Roxanne Hunt and Margaret Ruth.
As the evening drew to a close, it was hard to tell who had the best time at this year's Canine Casino Night - the dogs or their human companions!
