License Plate



Support spay/neuter efforts in your community by getting the "Pets in Utah" license plate for your car. All proceeds go to No More Homeless Pets in Utah's spay/neuter programs. The plate costs $25 per year and all $25 goes to No More Homeless Pets in Utah.

You can get the plate at your local DMV or through the mail using our printable application form.

Q. How do I get the plate?
A. There are presently several ways to get the new license plate. One is to go into any DMV location in Utah and tell the clerk you want the new "Pets in Utah" license plate.
A faster way is to download our online printable application. Print the form, fill it in and send it to the specified address, along with your check for $43.00 ($25.00 donation, $15.00 license plate fee, $3.00 shipping fee). Your new license plates will be sent directly to you!

Q. Can I order my license plate online from the DMV?
A. Yes, Go to the Utah DMV by typing in http://dmv.gov/license.html. Once you are on the site, click on Special Group Plates on the left-hand bar. It will give you the all the information you need (note-there is an excerpt below). If you wish to personalize your plate, you will need to then click on the Personalized Plates tab on the left. You will need to fill out and send in form TC 817.

Q. Can I use the DMV's online Renewal Express?
A. No. Renewal Express can only be used if you’re keeping your old license plates exactly as they are. However, once you get your "Pets in Utah" license plates this year, you may use Renewal Express in subsequent years.

Q. Is my $25 tax deductible?
A. Yes. Hold on to your DMV receipt as proof of your donation.

Q. Is the $25 a one-time fee?
A. No. The $25.00 donation is an annual donation, which means anytime you renew your plate, you will be funding at least one spay/neuter and saving countless lives. Utah's companion animals THANK YOU!!

Q. Can I get my new "Pets in Utah" license plate personalized?
A. Yes! But the decal takes up 2 letter/number spots, so you can only have a 5 character personalization. While you can send in an application form for your personalized plates, it is recommended that you go into DMV to see if your personalization preference is still available. The DMV does have an online site to check if your personalization preference is available (http://www.utah.gov/serv/upps). Remember, there is also an extra one-time $55.00 fee and a yearly $10.00 fee for your personalized plates as well as a $3 shipping fee, none of which goes to spay/neuter.
