Benjamin’s Story
It isn't easy to be 8 weeks old, alone on the streets and looking for a warm place to sleep. Such was the case for Benjamin the Kitten. A harrowing journey began when he took refuge under a warm car hood on a cold night. Thanks to the support of people like you, this story has a happy ending.
About a year and a half ago, a couple took a drive heading south from Ogden. When they pulled over in Bountiful for gas, they heard anguished cries coming from their car. Opening the hood, they found an 8 week old kitten caught in the engine.
Horrified by the devastating condition of the kitten, they immediately rushed him to the closest veterinarian, Dr. Kathy Lindstrom. Just 2 lbs, the tiny kitten had a concussion and a severely broken leg. Although at first sight his condition seemed hopeless, Dr. Lindstrom recognized his fighting spirit and wanted to give him a second chance.
Because Benjamin was not claimed by an owner, he became part of the No More Homeless adoption program. His foster mom, Andrea Dion, nursed him through his recovery. Despite his 3 months in a cast, Benjamin was lively, playful and fit right in with the other cats in his foster home. He is now a healthy, bad-ass teenager and has been adopted by Andrea, who calls him a "miracle cat."
