We are looking for a Full Time Adoption Coordinator!
The Adoptions Coordinator position requires excellent communication and organization skills and good time management skills. The ideal candidate will have a passion for rescuing pets facing euthanasia, and must be comfortable working with a diverse group of people, with excellent verbal skills in order to communicate with the public in a positive and educative manner. The candidate must also be able to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and adapt to changing circumstances under deadline pressure.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following types of activities:
- Reviewing incoming adoption applications. This includes evaluating potential adopters and completing all the paperwork necessary for an adoption.
- Organizing and managing weekend adoption events.
- Caring and handling of animals. The coordinator ensures that animals are treated in a humane manner at all times.
- The coordinator prepares animals for transportation to offsite adoption events in a timely and safe manner. This includes ensuring that animals are properly loaded and secured for transport. A good driving record and the ability to drive our transport vehicles required.
- Supervising volunteers at adoption outreach events, and managing and building relations with foster homes.
- Administrative duties: This includes processing adoption fees and donations, filing, and entering adoption animal details into our database.
Pay Rate is $10.00-13.00 per hour depending on experience. 40 hours a week position includes health and dental benefits. Must be able to work weekends. Animal care experience a plus.
